Aga Khan
Aga Khan IV, born Shah Karim al-Husseini, was the 49th hereditary Imam of the Nizari Ismaili Muslim community, a position he held from 1957 until his death in 2025. A British citizen who also held French, Swiss and Portuguese citizenship, he founded the Aga Khan Development Network, an umbrella group of agencies working in health, education, culture and economic development, and was widely known for his horse-breeding and racing operations. His net worth was estimated by Forbes at around $800 million, one of several widely varying public estimates of his wealth.
