Barry Sternlicht is an American businessman and investor who co-founded Starwood Capital Group, a private investment firm he formed in 1991, where he serves as chairman and chief executive officer. He also founded Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide in 1995 and served as its chairman and CEO until 2005, and is chairman of Starwood Property Trust. His net worth is estimated at approximately $4.0 billion.
