Bill Joy
Bill Joy is an American computer engineer and venture capitalist who co-founded Sun Microsystems in 1982 alongside Scott McNealy, Vinod Khosla, and Andy Bechtolsheim, serving as Chief Scientist and CTO until 2003. He played a key role in the early development of BSD UNIX as a graduate student at Berkeley and is the original author of the vi text editor. He later became a partner at venture capital firm Kleiner Perkins and founded the investment firm HighBAR Ventures.
