Brooks Smith
Merrill Brooks Smith is an American entrepreneur who founded InComm Payments in 1992, a prepaid card and financial technology company headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia. He is credited with pioneering point-of-sale activation (POSA) technology, which enabled retailers to activate prepaid products at the register and helped shape the modern prepaid payments industry. Smith continues to serve as chairman of the company he built from its early beginnings.
