Carl Icahn

Carl Icahn is an American businessman and investor, born in 1936 in New York, who is the founder, chairman, and controlling shareholder of Icahn Enterprises, a diversified conglomerate holding company. A graduate of Princeton University, he began his Wall Street career in the 1960s and founded his own securities firm, Icahn & Co., in 1968. He is widely known as one of the first activist investors, taking large stakes in public companies and pressuring management for changes intended to increase shareholder value; his estimated net worth is approximately $15 billion.
