David Simon

David Simon was an American businessman who served as chairman and chief executive officer of Simon Property Group, an S&P 100 company and the largest U.S. publicly traded commercial real estate company, headquartered in Indianapolis. He was the son of Jewish American real estate developer Melvin Simon, who founded the family real estate business, and David helped take the company public in 1993 before becoming CEO in 1995 and later chairman. Under his leadership, Simon Property Group grew into one of the nation's largest owners of shopping malls and retail properties, with stakes in over 250 properties across the U.S. and internationally.
