Eike Batista is a Brazilian businessman who built and later lost a multi-billion-dollar fortune in the mining, oil and gas industries. He founded the EBX Group, a conglomerate of companies spanning mining, energy, logistics, and shipbuilding, including MMX, OGX, MPX, LLX, and OSX. At his peak in the early 2010s he was ranked among the world's wealthiest individuals before his business empire collapsed.
