Gabe Newell is an American businessman and video game developer who co-founded Valve Corporation with Mike Harrington in 1996 and serves as its president. Before founding Valve, he worked at Microsoft for over a decade, where he contributed to early versions of the Windows operating system, and at Valve he led the development of the Steam digital distribution platform and titles such as Half-Life.
