Gianluigi Aponte
Gianluigi Aponte is an Italian businessman, born in 1940 near Naples, who co-founded the Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) with his wife Rafaela Aponte-Diamant in 1970. A former ship's captain, he built MSC from a single vessel into the world's largest container shipping line, based in Geneva, which also operates MSC Cruises and port and logistics businesses. His estimated net worth is around $44 billion, and he serves as the company's executive chairman.
