H.H. Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan
Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan (1918–2004) was an Emirati statesman who served as the first President of the United Arab Emirates from its formation in 1971 until his death in 2004, and as Ruler of Abu Dhabi from 1966. Widely regarded as the founding father of the UAE, he was the principal figure behind the unification of the emirates and oversaw the country's development into a major economy. He was also known for his philanthropy and is referred to in the UAE as the Father of the Nation.
