He is best known for building Starbucks into a global coffeehouse chain, serving as its chairman and chief executive officer across multiple stints between 1986 and 2023 after acquiring the company in 1987. He also founded the venture capital firm Maveron and the Schultz Family Foundation, and his net worth is estimated at around $3.0 billion.
