Igor Makarov
Igor Viktorovich Makarov is a Russian-born businessman, born in 1962 in Ashgabat (then Turkmen SSR), who founded ITERA International Group in 1992, one of the first independent natural gas companies in the former Soviet Union. After selling ITERA's Russian oil and gas assets to state-controlled Rosneft in 2013, he established ARETI International Group, a Cyprus-based holding company with investments in energy, real estate and other sectors. A former member of the USSR national cycling team, his fortune is estimated at approximately US$2.9 billion.
