Issam Michael Fares
Issam Michael Fares is a Lebanese businessman, born in 1937 in Tripoli, Lebanon, who founded the Houston-based Wedge Group, a diversified industrial and investment conglomerate. He served as a member of the Lebanese Parliament from 1996 to 2005 and as Deputy Prime Minister of Lebanon from 2000 to 2005. Fares is also known as a philanthropist, having made major donations to educational and research institutions, including the American University of Beirut and Tufts University.
