Jim Allchim
Jim Allchin (born 1951) is an American computer scientist and former Microsoft executive who spent sixteen years at the company overseeing the development of core platform products including Windows, Windows Server, and SQL Server. He led major releases such as Windows 2000, Windows XP, and Windows Vista before retiring in 2007. Since leaving Microsoft, he has pursued careers as a philanthropist and blues guitarist, and resides in the Seattle area.
