John Caudwell
John Caudwell is an English businessman, investor and philanthropist, born in 1952 and raised in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire. He is best known as the founder of the Caudwell Group, whose businesses included the UK mobile-phone retailer Phones 4u and the service provider Singlepoint, which he built up from 1987 before selling the group in 2006. A signatory of the Giving Pledge, he is also known for his philanthropy, founding the charity Caudwell Children, and his fortune is estimated at around $3.0 billion.
