King of Bahrein
Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa (born 28 January 1950) is the King of Bahrain, a position he has held since 2002. A member of the ruling House of Khalifa, he succeeded his father as Emir in 1999 and became the country's first king following its transition to a kingdom in 2002. His reign has been marked by constitutional and economic developments, including the introduction of a new constitution establishing Bahrain as a constitutional monarchy.
