Pericles Panagopoulos (1935–2019) was a Greek shipping magnate born in Athens who built a career spanning ocean liners, cruise ships, and ferry operations. <cite index="1-1">In 1972, in partnership with Barney A. Ebsworth, he formed Royal Cruise Line.</cite> <cite index="1-6">In 1993, Pericles Panagopoulos co-founded with his son Alexander Panagopoulos, Superfast Ferries, as part of the Attica Group, an Athens-listed holding corporation.</cite> <cite index="2-4">Superfast Ferries operated new, luxury passenger-car ferries between Greece and Italy and then expanded its services between Germany and Finland and between Scotland and Belgium.</cite> <cite index="2-8">He was president of the Greek Shipowners Association for Passenger Ships from 2003 to 2008 and since 2009 was its honorary president.</cite>
