The Al Nahyan family is the ruling royal family of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, one of the seven emirates of the United Arab Emirates. Its senior members hold the emirate's hereditary rulership as well as top positions in the UAE federal government, including the presidency, and the family's wealth is closely tied to Abu Dhabi's oil reserves and sovereign investment vehicles. Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan currently serves as President of the UAE and Ruler of Abu Dhabi.
