The Walton family is an American family that owns close to half of Walmart, the retail corporation founded by Sam Walton in 1962. Its members are the descendants of Sam Walton and his brother Bud Walton, and the family is consistently ranked as the wealthiest in the United States, with an estimated net worth of around $267 billion. The family is also associated with philanthropy through the Walton Family Foundation, established in 1987.
