Yevgeny Prigozhin

Yevgeny Prigozhin (1961-2023) was a Russian businessman and financier who built his wealth through the catering and restaurant company Concord, which held major contracts supplying the Kremlin and Russian military. He later founded and led the Wagner Group, a private military company active in conflicts including Ukraine, Syria and several African countries, and became known publicly as "Putin's chef" due to his early catering ties to the Kremlin. He died in a plane crash in Russia in August 2023.
